Washington DC – A leaked secret cable from Saudi King revealed a US ban on Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman’s visit to Washington and meetings with American President Joe Biden.

The leaked royal decree orders the creation of a professional team to urgently leverage Saudi investments in the US and the help from Saudi Monarchy’s American friends and allies to pressure the State Department to end travel restrictions on MBS. The King askes that Crown Prince MBS be allowed to visit the US and meet with Biden as soon as possible, or get Biden to visit the Saudi Kingdom. The secret cable signed by King Salman was sent April 8.

The cable referenced a March 29 letter from Saudi Ambassador to Washington Reema bint Bandar conveying the refusal of the State Department for an MBS visit and meeting Biden.

On February 17, Biden’s Press Secretary Jen Psaki told White House reporters that “The president’s counterpart is King Salman, and I expect that at an appropriate time, he would have a conversation with him”, rebuffing any calls or meetings between Biden and MBS.

The cable was leaked by an unknown group calling itself “Mijhar AlJazeera.” The group says it has a treasure trove of secret Saudi documents, said one of its members who spoke to the Institute for Gulf Affairs. These documents maybe have been obtained through hacking or from whistleblowers. IGA will continue to report on these documents as they become available.

The King’s cable was sent to the Saudi Investment Authority, the Foreign Ministry and the Saudi Cabinet Secretariat.
