Report: The Omani Model -CVE2

Washington DC – The Institute for Gulf Affairs released an innovative study titled “the Omani Model” by the institute’s Shohini Gupta.

The report is the second of the CVE series and focuses on How Oman managed to be a model state in countering terrorism and in playing a productive role in the Middle East.

Gupta argues that the United States should support the Omani Model and learn from its policies to counter the rising threat of violent extremism.

Although bordered by Yemen and Saudi Arabia, two centers of terrorism in the region, Oman has managed to register zero terrorist attacks or links.

In spite of its authoritarian political system, Oman managed to also include all its social groups within its political system.
